Huisman 1100 now available in online auction. Everyone can bid until November 16, 2026. Classic Huisman 1100 with a rich history What makes this Huisman 1100 special? This classic Huisman 1100 is a characterful steel sailing boat with a unique place in Dutch yacht building history. It was built in 1960 at Royal Huisman in Ronduite and carries build number 1. The original nameplate is still on board. This boat is not only an attractive cabin cruiser for recreational use but also an interesting piece of maritime heritage. The boat was designed by Alan Buchanan and features a classic S-shaped hull made of welded steel. Its length is 11.00 meters, with a beam of 3.00 meters. The fixed draft is approximately 1.20 meters. With the centerboard lowered, the draft reaches about 1.90 meters. Thanks to this construction, it can be used in various sailing areas. The shallow draft allows access to places where deeper-keel yachts cannot go, including shallow anchor spots along the coast, in the Wadden Sea, and in the Frisian lakes. The owner has sailed her on the Wadden Sea and the Frisian lakes. Inland waters, lakes, and seas are also part of her known sailing areas. She has been used for day trips, vacations, and longer weekend excursions. The combination of her classic appearance, practical centerboard design, and sheltered accommodation makes this Huisman 1100 suitable for those who want to sail in style and versatility. Huisman 1100 now available in online auction. Everyone can bid until November 16, 2026. What is the layout on board? Inside, there is a warm, pleasant atmosphere with plenty of beautiful mahogany wood and furnishings that have preserved her classic character. The headroom in the saloon is approximately 1.93 meters, making the living space surprisingly comfortable for a boat from this construction period. The saloon features two settee berths that can be used as sleeping places. In the forepeak, there is space for two people. In total, there are five sleeping places available. The saloon settees are approximately 2.00 meters long. Additionally, there is a separate dog bed present. The forepeak offers a spacious sleeping area of about 2.10 meters long. The interior sides of the sleeping areas are finished with solid wooden slats, contributing to the well-maintained classic look of the interior. On board, there is a dining area, a cooking stove, mattresses, and a manual toilet available. The toilet discharge goes directly into the outside water. The water tank has a capacity of approximately 150 liters. For heating, a hot air system has been installed. The galley is practically equipped with a two-burner stove. The combination of mahogany wood, natural materials, and the original atmosphere gives this classic sailing boat a distinctive character. How does her engine perform? The Huisman 1100 is equipped with a Perkins three-cylinder inboard diesel engine from 1996. The engine starts electrically and is operational. Her engine data includes serial number 1M1031 and approximately 2,000 running hours. In 2024 extensive maintenance and inspection work were carried out on the drive system. This included work on the engine, fuel pump, fuel supply lines, filters, fuel tank seals, and compression testing was performed as well. The fuel tank has been refurbished in a workshop setting. The diesel tank has a capacity of approximately 80 liters with an indicated consumption of about 3 liters per hour. The cruising speed is around 10 kilometers per hour and the maximum speed around 15 kilometers per hour depending on loading conditions, wind, and water conditions. On board are a tachometer, shore power connection, battery charger, voltmeter, and three batteries with a total capacity of 270 Ah. The onboard electrical system operates at 12 volts. How is her sail inventory composed? The boat features a classic wooden mast approximately 11.50 meters high and a matching wooden boom. The sail area measures around 30 square meters. It comes equipped with mainsail, genoa, jib, working jib, and spinnaker. The mainsail includes roller reefing systems while roller systems are present for the headsails. The sails are in well-maintained usable condition; the mainsail was replaced during winter storage from 2021/2022 when all shrouds were renewed and the wooden mast received new three-layer paint treatment as well as during winter storage from 2024/2025 when the genoa sheet was renewed along with maintenance on bronze winches. Steering takes place outside with a tiller and single rudder system; the cockpit comfortably accommodates about four people while sailing or can be used for lounging when docked thanks to solid wooden cockpit benches that have been freshly painted with sealed corners.
