J/105 – The J/105 is a remarkable combination of speed, sailing comfort, and ease of use. Designed by Rod Johnstone, this sailing yacht was developed as a performance cruiser that excels in sailing with family and friends or with a smaller crew. The J/105 is known for its responsive helm, excellent performance, and simple, efficient rigging. Thanks to its stable hull, deep fin keel with bulb, and relatively light displacement, it offers great confidence during spirited sailing and longer passages. This J/105 DJ, built in 2006 by T.P.I. France, measures 10.51 meters in length, 3.35 meters in width, and has a draft of 1.98 meters. With its CE category A rating and capacity for eight persons, it is suitable for both competitive sailing and offshore use. The spacious and well-organized cockpit, the steering wheel, and the efficient deck layout make the J/105 easy to handle while the design shines during races and extended sailing trips. Onboard is a Volvo Penta D1-20 diesel engine with 20 hp, connected to a shaft with a two-blade folding propeller. The engine is supported by two batteries, a battery charger, an alternator, and shore power. For navigation and communication, the J/105 is equipped with Raymarine ST60 log, depth sounder, wind meter, Raymarine S1 autopilot, Garmin GPS, and an iCOM VHF radio. The sail inventory makes this J/105 particularly appealing to the sporty sailor. The fractional rig features an aluminum mast and includes a total of seven sails: a Winning Sails mainsail from 2022, various Hagoort headsails, and multiple asymmetrical spinnakers for optimal performance on broad reaches. The combination of the J/105 hull, fractional rigging, and asymmetrical spinnaker allows for high performance with a relatively small crew. Below deck, the J/105 offers a sporty and light interior with four fixed berths and two additional sleeping spaces, a practical galley, manual toilet, 100-liter water tank, and Webasto hot air heating system. This makes it not only an attractive racing boat but also suitable for relaxing weekend trips and short vacations. A versatile J/105 for those who want to combine sporty sailing performance with ease of handling and offshore capabilities along with practical accommodations onboard.
