This sailing boat is easy to sail and performs well even in just 6 knots of wind. It handles nimbly at the helm and responds almost like a dinghy to rudder commands. With a shallow draft, it is perfectly suited for the Havel or the Baltic Sea, ensuring a beautiful spot in any harbor. A standout feature is the electric propulsion system, newly installed in 2022. This eliminates all typical diesel engine maintenance, such as annual oil changes, winterizing, and de-winterizing, as well as noise and fumes inside the boat. No more starting difficulties either. Additional features include: – Mast lowering device – Dry separation toilet – Draft of only 1.10 meters The boat has been refurbished over the last few years, addressing many minor issues. We sailed it for six months in the Baltic Sea in 2024, and it performed flawlessly – everything worked perfectly! We are parting with it due to personal reasons. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 28.1 has the following specifications: Year built: 1997 Length / Beam / Draft: 8.70 / 2.95 / 1.10 Weight: 2.7 tons CE category B (coastal waters) Keel type: wing keel, providing nearly constant draft when heeled. Tiller steering with spade rudder, equipped with autopilot (Simrad TP10). Sail area: Genoa 14.55 + Main 17.93 = total of 32.48 sqm. Main sail: 1x Northsail, 1x Jeanneau original mainsail Headsails: 1x Beilken 110% Genoa, 1x Jeanneau original Genoa, 1x Jeanneau original jib Furling system: Selden 105s new in 2023 with profile, furling system, reef line. Shrouds, forestay, backstay: new in 2023 The main sail can be reduced at the mast using reef points 1 or 2. The corresponding reef lines are secured at the front end of the boom. Mast lowering device: There is a permanently integrated mast lowering pole made of stainless steel with a block and tackle system (6-fold purchase). Also permanently integrated is a rear mast support with mast roller for storing the lowered mast, along with two wooden/steel mast supports that can be set up as needed (e.g., during winter storage) behind the anchor locker and at the base of the mast to securely store the mast on board. Engine: ePropulsion EVO POD 6 kW. New in 2022 with LiFePo battery 9 kWh, matching charger, side control and display with GPS and range indicator. The charger can be connected to any standard harbor outlet and takes about six hours for a full charge. Power consumption is approximately 2 kWh. Auxiliary engine: A special bracket (included in the boat price) for a small outboard can be plugged into the swim ladder sockets. A Honda 2.3 HP outboard fits here and can be purchased separately; it is not included in the boat price but can bring the boat to about 5 km/h in calm conditions. Toilet: Dry separation toilet by Kildwick – no vacuum costs! There are no clogs or odors, and operation is very simple. Toilet room includes sink, mirror, and cabinets. Pressurized water system with very quiet pump, new water tank (100 liters) installed in 2023 with two outlets in the bathroom and kitchen. Both sinks drain directly overboard below the waterline. Galley: Stove: Origo 300 alcohol stove, stainless steel sink and cooling compartment (non-refrigerated). Ample storage for provisions and dishes as well as cooking utensils in two drawers, two cabinets with sliding doors, and two shelf compartments under the sink and stove. This compartment is well-suited for passive cooling since it lies below the waterline and directly against the hull. Bow anchor: Stainless steel Bruce anchor weighing 10 kg with a galvanized chain of 30m. Stern anchor: Galvanized Bruce anchor weighing 7 kg with a roll-mounted anchor line of 25m. Guardrails: With upper and lower lifelines on both sides. Stainless steel bow pulpit with wooden step board. Stern rail with removable center section (with upper and lower lifelines) for swimming. Cockpit closure removable towards aft. Swim ladder removable. Original plastic sockets for swim ladder were replaced in 2021 with custom-made stainless steel sockets. Huge cockpit locker sensibly divided into several compartments. Storage spaces inside under all benches and berths as well as in several cabinets and open storage channels. Electrical system: 2 batteries (12 V), each rated at 100AH AGM; one is new from 2024. The batteries can be used separately or connected together. 12 V charger allows separate charging of both batteries (Philippi). Lighting: 4 ceiling lights – in bathroom, aft cabin, galley, and salon; plus a spotlight above navigation table. All lights have been converted to LED. Shore power cable located in anchor locker at bow; length of 12 meters; CEE plug. Depth sounder with log display from Autohelm. There is also an electric wind indicator; wiring exists up to the top of the mast but lacks the transducer—it's unclear where the fault lies (transducer, wiring, display…). Position lights have also been converted to LED: R/G at bow new in 2023; white steam light at mast; white stern light; white all-round anchor light at mast top. A significant advantage of this boat is its spacious berth in the aft cabin. Aft cabin berth dimensions: 2.00 x 1.55 / 1.00 (head/foot end) V-berth dimensions: 1.85 x 1.80 /0.40 (head/foot end) Headroom: max height of 1.80 Seat height: max height of 1.25 Bench length in cockpit: length of bench is approx.1.80 m with teak finish Bench length below deck: length of bench is approx.1.80 m Table in salon that can also easily be moved into cockpit. Teak wood handles on both sides of cabin. Genoa tracks for adjusting lead points on cabin top. Traveler in cockpit for mainsheet control. Cushions: Mattress for aft berth (upper half new in 2022), mattress for V-berth, bench cushions on both sides as well as for front bench in salon; also three back cushions available—the back cushion from front bench can be used if needed to extend V-berth (see photo). Ventilation: Provided by five hatches: two over...
