Tweestrijd is no ordinary lemsteraak; it is a vessel with a soul, shaped by over a century of history and craftsmanship. Built in 1910 as a robust fishing boat and converted into a roefaak in 1956 by Jachtwerf Stofberg, she still bears the marks of her working past, combined with the comfort of a family yacht. Since that transformation in 1956, she has remained continuously in the hands of the same family. Onboard, you will find a neatly arranged interior with 7 fixed and 2 extra sleeping places. Authentic details such as the original brass water pump, characteristic tiles, panel doors, and the solid mahogany floor—fully removable for inspection of the hull—give the ship a warm, timeless appearance. Above deck, the spacious cockpit with block grates immediately catches the eye, ideal for long days on the water. The teak deck dates back to 1988. Below the waterline, Tweestrijd has been thoroughly modernized: in 2016, a completely new hull was installed (no doublings), with extra thick skin plates. This reduces the need for ballast to approximately 1000 kg of lead, enhancing her sailing characteristics. Above the waterline, she remains riveted—a beautiful detail that enhances her classic appearance. The rigging has also been renewed over the years: a complete sail wardrobe and a new mast from Leospar, both from 2014, along with a new boom from that same year. In 2023, the engine and reversing coupling were overhauled. Tweestrijd is a ship for enthusiasts: robust, honest, and with a rich history. No excess luxury here—just pure quality and character, ready for new stories on the water.
