Maxi Mixer (Cruising) stems from Pelle Petterson’s idea of uniting two worlds — hence “Mixer”. Drawn in the early 1980s as a cruiser/racer, it was built for everyday cruising and club racing in the same hull: easy to handle on passage, yet with lines and rigging that deliver speed, especially in lighter airs. Its cult status comes from the whole package. On deck the solutions are robust and well thought-out, from fittings to winches. Below decks the materials are solid, the layout is simple and practical with standing headroom, a proper galley and real berths. It’s a boat made to be sailed — season after season — without losing its easy motion or calm temperament when the breeze freshens. Production was limited and the model was never diluted by later compromises. The result is a 35-foot Nordic classic: built for family cruising with friends, but born with the spark to be lively around the cans. That mix is precisely what has earned the Maxi Mixer its reputation among enthusiasts.
