We have returned from a 6-week archipelago tour in the north, and now "Obelix" awaits its new owner at its home port!!! Vindö 40, a classic sailing yacht - known for its robust construction, high Swedish quality craftsmanship, and excellent sailing performance. In 1979, the first owner, a fisherman from Gotland, took delivery of this Vindö 40 equipped with a wheel helm directly from Nötesunds Varv on Orust, the predecessor of the renowned Hallberg-Rassy shipyard. He sailed the boat for only five seasons until in 1984 a businessman and his family from Stockholm discovered sailing and took over "Obelix" for 37 years. In 2021, they parted ways due to age reasons, and I took over "Obelix" to enjoy many trips in the Swedish archipelago with her. Now, in 2026, she is back on the market, ready to explore Nordic waters with new owners. While the deck shows years of experience, it is sound, well-maintained, and oiled multiple times a year – it only requires some sanding and several coats of marine varnish in winter 26-27 at certain spots. Upon entering from the cockpit, you will find the galley to port and the navigation corner to starboard. In the center of the boat is the salon with U-shaped and longitudinal seating and a drop-leaf table in the middle. The bow features a double cabin and to starboard aft behind the navigation corner is a pilot or dog berth. By lowering the salon table, three additional sleeping spaces can be created. The boat has been lovingly maintained by the yard over all these years and has always wintered indoors. An optional storage block can be taken over. The boat is located in the archipelago near Västervik – winter storage indoors (significantly cheaper than in Germany) can be taken over there – allowing you to enjoy the stunning archipelago every summer instead of staying in crowded harbors in Germany.
