Spacious accommodation and thoughtful layout Inside, the Cobra 33 offers a surprisingly spacious interior with a headroom of 1.90 meters. There are six fixed berths spread over multiple cabins, with the option to create two additional berths. The forward cabin is equipped with a slatted bed base (Lattoflex) and ample storage space, significantly enhancing comfort during longer stays on board. The salon features a large seating area and a separate wet room with a manual toilet and shower. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, freezer, and hot water supply, making self-sufficient living on board quite feasible. The presence of hot air heating, multiple 12V and 220V connections, LED lighting, and a radio create a pleasant living environment, regardless of the season. The 250-liter water tank and 40-liter holding tank support longer stays without frequent stops. Sailing characteristics and performance The Cobra 33 is equipped with an aluminum mast and a complete sail plan consisting of five sails, including a mainsail, jib, genoa, and storm jib. The headsail features a furling system, making sailing easier, even for a smaller crew or solo sailor. Thanks to the swing keel and swing rudder system, the draft is variable between 50 cm and 140 cm, allowing navigation in both shallow inland waters and open seas. Propulsion is provided by a Lombardini inboard diesel engine with a power of 14 hp. With an average consumption of just 0.9 liters per hour and a cruising speed of 12 km/h, the vessel is efficient to use. The engine has approximately 1750 operating hours and is electrically started. The fuel tank has a capacity of 40 liters. Navigation and electrical systems The Cobra 33 is equipped with a complete Raymarine navigation system, including AIS, autopilot, depth sounder, fishfinder, GPS, chartplotter, compass, log/speedometer, VHF radio, and wind meter. This extensive equipment makes the vessel suitable for both recreational use and serious long-distance voyages. The electrical installation includes four batteries with a total capacity of 400 ampere-hours, a battery charger, alternator, inverter, shore power connection, and solar panels. The onboard voltage is 12V and 220V, enabling the use of various equipment. Outdoor space and equipment The spacious cockpit accommodates eight people and features a steering wheel, cockpit table, bimini, sprayhood, and cockpit tent. The electric windlass, two anchors with chain and line, and the presence of davits make the vessel complete for longer stays and anchoring maneuvers. The swim ladder and self-draining cockpit enhance usability and safety on board. The bow thruster facilitates maneuvering in ports and narrow waterways. Experience and sailing area The Cobra 33 is designed for versatile use and has proven to be suitable for extensive voyages. The current owner has made an impressive journey with this vessel from the Netherlands to Greece via seven European capitals, including Paris, Vienna, and Budapest. The vessel is easy to operate by one person but also offers enough space and comfort for a group of eight people. Thanks to its variable draft and low air draft, the vessel is suitable for lakes, rivers, canals, and coastal waters. Conclusion The Cobra 33 is a spacious and fully equipped sailboat that stands out for its versatility, practical layout, and extensive equipment. Whether you are looking for a vessel for vacations, leisure sailing, or longer voyages, this sailboat provides a comfortable and functional base for a variety of sailing plans. With its combination of sailing performance, living comfort, and technical amenities, the Cobra 33 is an interesting choice for sailors who value freedom and adventure on the water.
