Finnclipper Motorsailor 1978 – Classic motorsailer with versatile sailing capabilities The Finnclipper Motorsailor from 1978 is a polyester sail-motorboat measuring 8.90 meters in length and 3.15 meters in width. With a shallow draft of 1.10 meters and an air draft of approximately 3 meters, this vessel is suitable for a wide range of sailing areas, including inland waters, canals, lakes, and coastal waters. The S-shaped hull and tiller steering provide a traditional sailing experience, while the combination of sail and motor propulsion offers flexibility in various weather conditions. Layout and Accommodation The Finnclipper is designed with two enclosed cabins: a forward cabin with a V-shaped bed and a second cabin with two single berths. In the salon, two additional berths can be created, bringing the total to six. The interior headroom is 1.80 meters, allowing ample space for most occupants to move around comfortably. The galley is equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, and freezer. The presence of a manual toilet and hot air heating makes onboard stays possible even in colder seasons. The water tank has a capacity of 300 liters, sufficient for multi-day trips. Engine and Technical Equipment The boat is powered by a 50 hp Perkins 4108 diesel engine. This inboard engine is electrically started and utilizes a propeller shaft with grease-lubricated bearings. The cruising speed is around 6 km/h, with a maximum speed of approximately 7 km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 360 liters, providing a generous range. The electrical system consists of a 12V and 220V system, including a battery charger, alternator, inverter, shore power connection, and a solar panel. There are three batteries on board: one 75Ah starter battery and two 120Ah service batteries. The boat is equipped with various gauges, such as a fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and tachometer. Navigation and Safety For navigation, the Finnclipper is equipped with a depth sounder, GPS, chartplotter, compass, and wind gauge. This makes the vessel suitable for both short trips and longer voyages. In terms of safety, there is an electric bilge pump and a lifebuoy onboard. Sail Equipment The Finnclipper is rigged as a sloop with one mast and two sails: a mainsail and a headsail (jib and genoa). The headsail features a furling system. The condition of the sails is described as fair to poor, potentially requiring attention from the future owner. The boat also features an electric anchor windlass, anchor with chain and line, and various deck equipment such as a bimini, cockpit tent, deck covers, fenders, lines, and a swim ladder. Maintenance and Documentation The boat was taken out of the water in October 2023 and has since been on land in Lelystad. During this period, the gas installations were replaced and certified. The last antifouling treatment was carried out in 2023. There are no signs of osmosis. Additional Information Documentation such as a sales agreement and a broker's specification are available. Summary This 1978 Finnclipper Motorsailor offers a blend of motor and sailing capabilities, suitable for diverse sailing areas. With a practical layout, ample tank capacity, and basic amenities onboard, the vessel is suitable for both day trips and multi-day journeys. The boat is currently available for viewing on land in Lelystad.
