Description

Remarks :The Malo boatyard in Sweden was established in 1939, and each year, a small number of comfortable semi-custom, high-specification, high-quality boats are built that are well suited for ocean cruising. Between 1984 and 1988, one of their most successful boats was the 106 (10.6m, 34.78ft, LOA). In 1988, they introduced a stretched variant of this popular masthead sloop, marketed as the 106 plus (or 36 plus), being 11.4m (37.4ft). NORNOUR is one of these comparatively rare examples, perhaps providing the model for the Malo 38, which was introduced the same year. This beautiful boat was purchased by its present owners, only its third, in 2014. They intended to use her for holiday/retirement cruising along the South Coast of England. Unfortunately, old age and sickness overtook them, and their ambitions were reduced to fine weather day sailing East of Falmouth and West of Salcombe and kept on a swinging mooring in the Fowey River between May and October and on the hard in Tom’s yard from October to May. Her engine has been regularly serviced, and her gear has been upgraded. An excellent sailing boat with a large, deep, dry cockpit and a boom which does not extend aft of the companionway, she is a delightful boat to sail and a joy to look at. A reluctant sale priced to sell.   Accommodation :Sleeps 7 in two cabins and the saloonForecabin with double V berthThe saloon sleeps 3 with a double berth to port and single berth to starboardThe chart table is aft of the single starboard berth and forward of the aft headsHeads which include a Jabsco toilet, washbasin and hand-held showerThe galley is positioned to port aft of the saloon seating, forward of the door leading to the rear cabin, with a four-burner gas oven/cooker, the sink and fridgeAft cabin with a comfortable single/cosy double berthTeak and holly flooringTeak interior joineryWebasto diesel fires cabin heating   Inventory :Navigation Aids:In The Cockpit;Simrad speed & depthRaymarine wind speed & direction  Suunto steering compassAutohelm 3000 autopilotAt The Chart Table;Simrad CX44 chartplotter with radarSimrad RD68, DSC, VHF radioICS NAV6 navtex Garmin GPS 128 GPSGround Tackle:Lofrans Cayman 88 electric anchor windlass, up only20kg Bruce anchor60m chain15kg kedge anchorAnkarolina rode reel on pushpit 20kg CQR anchor as spare Double stainless steel bow rollerDeck Gear:Fixed toughened glass windscreenAnderson Scndinavia 46, 2 speed, self-tailing sheet winches x 2Anderson Scndinavia 16, two-speed, self-tailing secondary winchAnderson Scandinavia 10, single-speed secondary winchMainsheet traveller mounted on top of a Targa cockpit archGenoa tracks with Ronstan adjustable carsDeck hatchesStainless steel pushpit, pulpit & stanchions with boarding gates to port & starboardAluminium mooring cleats Teak grab railsSafety Equipment:All Safety equipment listed is included in the sale, but the vendor offers no warranties. The purchaser must service the safety equipment, ensure it is appropriate for his purposes, & check the expiry and service dates on all items!Tron 608/GPS EPIRBOcean safety 6-person liferaft serviced until May 2026Horseshoe lifebuoyLifesling overboard rescue systemElectric bilge pumpManual bilge pumpEquipment:Canvas cockpit enclosure (NEW 2015)Canvas stacpack (NEW 2015)Canvas halyard bags Cockpit cushions Mechanical :Construction:Built by Malo Yachts in 1988Designed by Leif AngermarkGRP balsa cored hull, deck & superstructureHull form is a round bilge, raked bow, reverse raked sternIntegral long keel with encapsulated lead ballastGRP rudder on full-length skegTeak laid deck & cockpit, including the cockpit seatsWheel steeringHull Number 167SSR Number 116653Official Number 716722Mechanics:Volvo Penta MD2003T turbo diesel 43hp engineShaft drivenBruntons three bladed AutopropSingle lever engine controlElectrics:115ah, 12v service batteries x 2 (NEW 2022)50ah 12v engine start battery (NEW 2022)BEP Marine DC meterSterling Power Products deep cycle alternator regulatorCharging from the engine alternatorRutland 914i wind generator (NEW 2024)Voltmeter230v shorepower systemTankage:Fuel capacity 155 litres in a single stainless steel tank & a polyethene tank, with Vetus fuel gaugeFreshwater capacity 450 litres with Wema gaugesHolding tank (UNUSED)Water System:Hot & cold pressurised water Hot water from calorifier heated by the engineRigging:Aluminium sparsStainless steel standing rigging (replaced 2014)Double spreader rigFurlex genoa furling systemSlab reefingStackpack with lazyjacks (NEW 2015)Mast track car system for the mainsailAll lines lead aft to the cockpitAnderson 16, two-speed mast winches x 2Sails:Fully battened mainsail (NEW 2015)furling Genoa with UV foam luff (NEW 2020)Storm jibCruising chuteMovable cockpit table for alfresco dining
