The Zuidkaper 40 ft is the sister ship of the renowned Noordkaper and has always been owned by the first and only owner. There are minor design differences between the Noordkaper and the Zuidkaper, designed by Martin Bekebrede. For the most part, the design is identical. The Zuidkaper features a slightly different transom and a bit less sheer. Both vessels are exceptionally seaworthy and suitable for crossing oceans. The Zuidkaper 40 is a quality yacht with an impressive appearance: sturdy and robust, yet stylish and comfortable. Wide side decks and the helm station with a beautiful view make life under sail a fantastic sailing experience. The helm station is a real eye-catcher; in bad weather, there is a dry, warm, and safe place for everyone inside. The construction and welding resemble commercial shipping more than yacht building. The optimal length-to-beam ratio offers surprisingly ample space for modern comfort. The vessel is very suitable for long distances, especially with a small crew (shorthanded), and for living aboard. The panoramic saloon with internal steering contributes to this. The retractable keel allows sailing in shallow waters. The Zuidkaper differs slightly from the Noordkaper (slightly narrower transom and slightly less sheer) but shares the same ocean-worthy status. The underwater hull of both vessels is identical, coated in a coppercoat epoxy system. This ship was built at the request of the current owner and comes equipped with every conceivable option. A unique feature is the folding transom, which allows easy access on board from the dock. The vessel is built under CE class A suitable for ocean navigation. VAT has been demonstrably paid with a Dutch customs declaration.
